About Heidi
Heidi St. John has been married to her husband Jay since 1989. They have seven children ages 5 months to 19 and have homeschooled all the way through high school. A favorite conference speaker, Heidi approaches homeschooling with humor and grace at events all across North America.Heidi is the second of seven children, and the oldest of six sisters. Her heart and passion for people comes across in her writing and speaking—whether you see her at a speaking event or at the grocery store. She's as down-to-earth in person as she is in her books and workshops.
Growing up in Boring, Oregon with six siblings and a cow named Hamburger has proven to be wonderful inspiration for many of Heidi's workshops. Now, with seven children of her own, Heidi brings a heart to encourage and inspire whomever she is with. (And don't worry—you'll get the real story behind the stories!)
Jay and Heidi are also the founders and executive directors of First Class Homeschool Ministries, a parachurch organization dedicated to helping churches start homeschool cooperatives. First Class has been in operation since 2000 and has over 40 locations across North America.
The St. Johns reside in SW Washington state. They are blessed to share 2 acres and a home with Jay's parents. Truly, there is never a dull moment at the "St. John Chateau!"
"It has been our privilege and joy to have Jay & Heidi St. John as worship leaders and speakers for the Washington Association of Teaching Christian Homes (WATCH) homeschool conventions for the past several years. Jay brings a level of expertise AND a humility that invites others to a time of true worship. Heidi is a phenomenal speaker, engaging and funny, witty and honest. They bring refreshment and encouragement wherever they go.I would heartily recommend them to you, whatever the venue."

Thanks for encouraging homeschool moms in WA state. I just found your site via Molly/Econobusters, but have read your messages from WATCH emails.
My hubby's family is from Boring and his great uncle still lives off Aemissager Road. Since the grandparents have passed away we've not been there for many years now, but used to enjoy the drive south east to Boring at least once a year. We loved the peaches along the way in late summer & photo opps at the Richey road sign.

Book
I just finished reading your Busy ... Romance. It is always a struggle to find balance and reading your book will help me move more towards the middle again. I can see I need to work on being "That Girl" more. The book struck very close to home and I know I have some changes to make. Thank you so much for taking the time to write this. I know this aspect of our life can become neglected very easy because it doesn't happen overnight, but over time.
I will be recommending it to my support group for new or struggling homeschool parents.
Thanks again.
